OUT OF STOCK. If you get stuck email jezusfactory@yahoo.co.ukHow would you describe Shht (Ghent, Belgium) to someone who has never heard of them? Although almost impossible, let’s give it a try nevertheless: Shht are space rock

for the now generation. Five wired men from the sonic spaceship. A modern digital bricolage of ideas delivered by a band with chemical minds and a singer hanging from the roof mentally and physically. Shht are deconstructing deconstruction.

Love Love Love is Shht’s debut album. Each ‘Love’ stands for a different interpretation of the word, in an increasing intensity.

The first ‘Love’ stands for the contemporary overuse, mostly on social media, which makes the real meaning of the word hollow. The second ‘Love’ stands for the love between human beings, be it friends, family or strangers. The third ‘Love’ stands for the most sincere and passionate interpretation: the love between lovers. The love that is able to crack the shield of the ego, a love supreme.

Over the past years, Shht has built up a notorious live reputation. With Love Love Love, the time has arrived for the band to translate their explosive live energy into a listenable studio album whilst trying to maintain their absurdity, weirdness and the element of surprise. Four out of five band members are music producers, so it seemed like the sensible thing to do to produce, record and mix everything by themselves. This way, they had complete artistic freedom to make the album they wanted to give to the world.

The lyrics handle subjects like existentialism, the universe, religion, life in all its absurdity, money, wealth and poverty, society, human (social) behaviour, insecurity, self reflection and of course: love.

In the past year and a half, they released four singles that received some modest airplay on the national radio station Studio Brussel. Their first single, Life, was released together with its own personalized version of a Tetris game. Their latest single, Soup, was released with a conspicuous music video, animated by Lion Beach.

They’ve toured in the Netherlands, played the XPO North festival in Inverness (Scotland), played at MENT festival in Ljubljana (Slovenia), and last but not least, they went to South Africa to play Oppikoppi Festival in Northam, near Johannesburg. In their home country, the highlights were Leffingeleuren, Linkerwoofer, Ancienne Belgique (x2) and Boomtown.

Shht is Michiel Renson, Mathijs Steels, Wouter Van Asselbergh, Nathan Ysebaert and James de Graef. They have been inspired by artists like Mr. Oizo, Kanye West, The Beatles, Ariel Pink and Belgian noise rock band Raketkanon.
