Description
“Sincerely Average”, the long awaited debut album of Hitsville Drunks, Mauro’s Pawloswski’s powerpop band is released by Starman Records on April 7th on LP (+download), CD and cassette !
Mauro Pawlowski is one of Belgium’s most versatile songwriters and has been the lead guitar player in dEUS since 2004. Mauro’s career began in the early 90’s when he was the singer and songwriter of the legendary Evil Superstars who split way before their time, leaving behind a trail of minor chart hits; when Mauro released the Dave Sardy produced solo album ‘Songs From A Bad Hat’ and continued with a beguiling set of bands such as Mitsoobishy Jacson, Mauro & The Grooms, The Love Substitues, Kiss My Jazz, iH8 Camera, Pawlowski, Trouve & Ward, Othin Spake (with Trevor Dunn of Mr Bungle) & Possessed Factory to name but a few… Throughout his career he has continued to push sonic paramaters and meld an equal love for noise and pop in equal measures. With Hitsville Drunks Mauro is tuning in to 70’s FM rock with remarkable ease and also subtle humour and style to create what a lot of his fans have been waiting for, his most unashamedly commercial sounding record since ‘Songs From A Bad Hat’.
Live, Hitsville Drunks include his close friends Herman Houbrechts (Nemo, The Grooms), Jan Wygers (Creature With the Atom Brain, Condor Gruppe, The Grooms) and Sjoerd Bruil (Black Cassette, Sukilove, Dez Mona). Mauro is currently in Chicago with Steve Albini recording an album with his noise rock band ‘Gruppo Di Pawlowski’
